About Me

Andrea Scaramelli is a passionate teacher and student of yoga. This passion began in 2002 when her college field hockey coach advised her to incorporate yoga into her training as a college athlete for injury prevention and focus. Taking the advice of her coach, Andrea stepped into her first yoga class, a hot Bikram style yoga class, and never looked back. She noticed immediate changes to her physical and mental well-being and made it a daily practice. Andrea loved the teachings so much, that she decided to become a certified yoga instructor. She completed her 200 hr YTT with April Martucci, “NYC’s Most In-Demand” Yoga Instructor and founder of Reebok Sports Club Health and Wellness Program in NYC, where she studied with field experts including Leslie Kaminoff, Manorma, Sarah Perron, and Frances Taylor-Brown. Andrea found a way to manage her career in financial services, teach, practice yoga, and train for marathons. After 11 years of practice, she decided to pursuit teaching yoga full-time. She furthered her studies several years later and completed her 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with  Raghunath Cappo and Sondra Loring, deepening her knowledge of yoga on a more philosophical and spiritual level.  She is certified in Yin Yoga, and has completed anatomy trainings through Yoga Tune-Up. Over the past 4 years she has been melding her love of sports with teaching yoga. She has studied extensively with Sage Rountree, the leading expert in teaching yoga to athletes and is a certified Level JOGA, Yoga For Athletes Coach. Andrea resides in New Jersey with her musician husband and artist, and her two fox terriers. When she is not on the yoga mat, she can be found logging miles for her next race, hiking or walking her dogs,
